SPARKLER

Trailer — Workshop, Planet Connections, New York, NY written by Erik Champney; directed by Janet Bentley; featuring Chad Ryan, Ellie Gossage, and Max Meyers.

Trailer for an independent workshop presentation of Sparkler, presented at Planet Connections. Many provocative images. This was the beginning of an extraordinary development process, with Broadway producer Jim Kierstead taking the reins, in collaboration with Broadway Factor. The deliciously vicious, thrilling, and often painful look at a closeted movie star in 1964, his marriage of convenience to an ambitious actress, and his love for a boy, who could destroy his career and his life. Inspired by the true stories of a tyrannical studio system, Sparkler is an explosive look at the men and women held hostage by fame.
